4 The postscript to Shadowland:
I have cleaned your study, master, and locked away your
materials. Will that be all?
Pharaun smiled. Hearing her address him as master
always gave him a profound pleasure. Yes, you may retire
now.
Thank you, master. She curtsied.
The drow waited until her hand was on the door latch, then,
No, he said. She turned. I have changed
my mind.
He saw something wild flicker in her pale eyes and he smiled,
thinking of the night of verbal and physical jousting that would
follow the order he was about to give.
Take off your gown, Wilawen, and come to me

They wandered along the narrow streets, stopping at each gaily
lit booth to examine the wares on sale and to buy mugs of steaming
aleGoodness, it is strong! said Hentmirë,
handing hers to Gimliand roasted chestnutsLet
me take off the shells for you, melmenya, and spiced
pastries. Eowyn bought a necklace of red, green and white beans
from a little boy who tugged at her hand. And Hentmirë paid
for a very expensive sheet of parchment, painstakingly inscribed
in the finest calligraphy, by a young scholar (with frost-bitten
fingers), which read,
Legolas, Eowyn, Hentmirë and Gimli, son of Gloin.
Walked on the ice

the twenty-fourth day of Girithron
year Two of the Fourth Age.
She rolled it carefully and stowed it in her bag. Shall
we hire skates, Gimli?
The dwarf looked to the elf for support.

Eowyn smiled.
A very affectionateand pleasantly well-endowedelf
had snuggled up behind her, wrapping his arms around her, and
was nuzzling her ear, and rubbing her buttocks with an eager erection.
Gods
Eowyn closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.
One of the elfs hands wandered upwards and cupped her
breast, gently lifting and kneading it.
Dear gods. Eowyns smile broadened, but she kept her
eyes closed, and her body still.
Now the elfs soft mouth was biting her neck, and his
other hand was kneading her belly, and his penis
Oh, gods! Somehow, his penis had slipped between her legs
and was firmly pressing against her most sensitive flesh.
Eowyns body responded with a pool of moisture. I
could happily die like this

her own mistakes.

suck in power and hurl it at the massive beast, terrifying it
into submission. And this time her strike, guided by the dark
side, was sure and deadly.
The remaining creaturescowardly bruteswere already
disappearing into the forest.

its hand down her throat and over her breast, stroking her scaly
green skin, and laughed. "You are indeed a mer-maid,"

9 From To the Sea, to the Sea, chapter 8:
I must get back
Get back
Where? Legolas climbed
up the spiral staircase. Someone is waiting for me
Someone.
He stepped out into the courtyard and looked up at the glorious
blue sky. Three white birds were circling above the castle, crying
plaintively.
Gulls, he thought, turning round and round, watching them
swoop and glide. Look at the gulls! How lonely they sound,
calling to the sea
The sea.
Of course, how could I have forgotten?
The sea is waiting for me.

10 From the Shadowland teaser:
She turned, crying out in relief, Lassui! Oh, Lassui!
I was so worried about you!and flew to him, arms outstretched.
Legolas pushed her away. Princess Eowyn, he said,
coldly, these are my private chambers.
Lassui? She stared up at his angry face. What
is wrong?
Please, he said, make yourself decent.
He pulled the coverlet from the bed and handed it to her, disdainfully
averting his eyes. And stop using that ridiculous nickname.

11 From the The strange sea road, chapter 11:
He was interrupted by the chilling sound of a great Galadhrim
bow being fully drawn. "Turn," said Haldir, "and
face death like an elf."
"March Warden?" Legolas raised his hands in a peacemaking
gesture. "Something has happened to you, Haldir: you are
not yourself." He took a step forward. "Lower your bow."
"You are not good enough for her," said Haldir,
taking a step back. "You never were good enough for her.
She deserves so much more than you"
Sitting motionless on the rock beside him, Eowyn began to
make a strange keening sound.
"It will soon be over, meleth nín," said
Haldir, "and then we will be together."
"Haldir," said Legolas, quietly, "these are
not your own thoughts. Baalhanno is still inside your mind. Fight
him."
"He is lying, Haldir," said Hentmirë. "Kill
him."
"What? Oh, gwendithen nín!" cried Legolas.
He turned towards the little woman in disbelief, just as Haldir
loosed the arrow.

12 From the The strange sea road, chapter 9:
"They are already dead," cried Eowyn. "But
perhaps we can dismember them!" She ran forward, sword raised,
and struck at one of the stragglers, severing its spineand
the creature fell to the ground, its legs still walking where
they lay.
Then Legolas, following her lead, drew his white knife and
began removing heads and arms with surgical precision; and Eowyn,
at his side, continued hacking and slashing with her scimitar.
Rapidly, they cut a path to their friends.

13 From the The usual suspects, chapter 14:
Wolfram watched the fat little woman, elf-boy and the dwarf
slowly turning the courtyard garden into a souk. He glanced to
his right. Another beggar had taken up residence on his patch
of wasteland, not ten yards away. Planning to live off the
little womans charity, he thought.
It was annoying, but it did not matter. Two hours, thought
Wolfram. Two hours and I will be inside the house, claiming
my prize. He would pleasure My Lady in her own bedchamber,
then leave Carhilivren, follow the Silk Road, and try his chances
in the East.
Unless
He smiled, wolfishly. Unless, that is, My
Lady decides to come with me.
Either way, he would not be sitting outside the house much
longer.

He stumbled to his feet and, with something less than elven
grace, half ran towards the radiant woman, holding out his hand:
"My lady?"
A murmur of surpriseand some disapprovalrippled
through his guests, but Legolas ignored it. The Valar have
answered my prayer, he thought, she is my heart's own choice.
"My lady?"
Slowly, the woman raised her eyes and studied his face. For
a long, heart-faltering moment Legolas though she might refuse
him. But then she rose to her feet and accepted his hand.
And suddenly, Legolas could restrain himself no longerhe
